essays, late-night chats and LCRs. Revising for exams at the mo-
fairly interesting re-reading (or reading for the first time) texts,
especially for American Studies. Looking at individualism yesterday,
some extremely insightful texts by Ralph Waldo Emerson and David
Riesman.
Stressed about doing well in these exams, finding it difficult to
gauge the level required to garner a decent mark. Some suggestions
it's essentially the same as for normal essays, but taking into
account the fact we have to be ready to answer lots of questions at
once, that seems pretty daunting. To get the bursary I got from the
University again next year (and to put me in the running for receiving
it in my third, I think), I have to get 60%, on average, in these
exams. I think. It's all really pretty blurry- I emailed someone to
ask about it, but even they didn't seem terribly clear.
Reading 'Same Sex, Different Politics', about the various successes
and failures of the LGBT-rights campaigns, which is really quite good.
Been thinking about No Platform (triggered by NUS A/C last week), and
how it actually works on the crowd. Answer: not really sure.
Going back home for a couple of days in a week and a half, popping
into QE to talk about university, then off to NUS LGBT Conference,
then back for more revision. Back soon.
